Job summary

Villa At the Park is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our care team in Michigan. The LPN assumes responsibility for a group of residents for a shift, delivering licensed nursing care as ordered by physicians and in line with state and federal standards.

The role requires active LPN licensure in the state, CPR certification, and preferably 1 year of long-term care experience. Excellent communication and bedside manners are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Directs and supervises the day-to-day CNA services for assigned unit to assure care is rendered according to standards.
• Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
• Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, IV therapy, and respiratory care as ordered.
• Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident charts and MAR.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physician.
• Charts nurse’s notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Completes forms upon admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Ensures environment is free from hazards and addresses safety risks.
• Makes written and oral reports concerning shift activities.
• Implements and maintains care plans; recommends changes to IDT as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
