Job summary

Westland A Villa Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. The LPN assumes responsibility for a group of residents for a shift, providing licensed care under physician orders and in compliance with all applicable standards.

Responsibilities include medication administration, charting, patient assessments, and coordination with the IDT to ensure safe, high-quality resident care. The role requires Michigan LPN licensure, CPR, and prior LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification is required.
• Active LPN license in Michigan.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• Long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, resident rooms, and treatment areas.
• Directs and supervises day-to-day CNA services to ensure care is rendered per standards.
• Performs resident assessments/observations and reviews care plans.
• Takes vital signs and administers medications as ordered.
• Transcribes physician orders to charts and MAR.
• Charts nurse notes reflecting care provided and residents’ responses.
• Completes forms upon admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Ensures resident environment is safe and free from hazards.
• Reports on shift activities and makes recommendations for care plan changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
