Job summary

Amedisys in Homewood, AL is seeking a licensed practical nurse for full-time, Monday–Friday from 8am to 5pm to provide in-home patient care and support. You will verify plans of care with the RN, monitor patient conditions, and deliver compassionate nursing services at patients' homes.

Responsibilities include medication reconciliation, vitals, teaching self-care, and coordinating with physicians to meet patient needs. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are being met; Notify them as soon as possible when patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform a medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician ( e.g. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using the aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.

Attractive pay

$26.00 to $35.00 per hour for Orientation and will then convert to a per point pay method.
