Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our home health team in Augusta, Maine. This full-time role offers daytime hours, a $10,000 sign-on bonus and competitive pay of $35.00–$40.00 per hour, with opportunities to grow in a trusted national home health provider.

You will verify plans of care with the RN, collaborate with physicians, teach patients self-care, monitor vitals, reconcile medications, and complete accurate documentation in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; notify promptly when condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. Foley catheter changes).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
