Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable in both a contractor’s office pitching testing programs and in reviewing compaction reports or sealing geotechnical letters. You will carry a business development target and a technical workload, maintaining client relationships while the company provides the laboratory, field staff, and quality system.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required in the posting state or via comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or have a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve failures, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
