Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Licensed Optician in Owensboro, KY to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will interpret prescriptions, dispense glasses, and educate patients on lens options and insurance coverage.

You will maintain accurate records in the EHR, coordinate with technicians, and ensure orders are completed on time while delivering a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• State licensure required.
• Depending on state, ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience essential.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and a friendly demeanor.
• Manual dexterity and precise hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Deliver extraordinary patient experience with tailored eyewear solutions.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and proper lens dispensing.
• Maintain knowledge of products, rebates, lens types, and frames.
• Document prescriptions in EHR/ALE and attach scans to patient charts.
• Follow up on orders and inform patients of status or delays.
• Dispense glasses, adjust for fit, and ensure comfort.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care and warranty options.
• Explain insurance benefits, copays, and coverage limitations.
• Interprets prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists.
