Job summary

Nationalvision1 is seeking a General Manager to lead a retail optical store, drive sales and profitability, and create an exceptional customer and patient experience. You will oversee staffing, operations, merchandising, training, and compliance while partnering with the Doctor to deliver top-tier care.

The role emphasizes coaching, performance management, and creating a positive, high-energy environment with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail experience; Supervising experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the optical industry is preferred.
• ABO & NCLE Certification.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build strong associate relationships.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales.
• Solid understanding of store operations and business performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations including staffing, inventory, bookkeeping, planning, and policy adherence.
• Lead, train, and develop associates through coaching and feedback.
• Monitor performance to deliver outstanding customer and patient experiences.
• Partner with the Doctor to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Conduct store audits and uphold quality and service standards.
• Maintain open communication with the District Manager and provide accurate reporting.
• Ensure store and facility meet corporate and safety standards.
• Execute marketing, merchandising, and promotional initiatives per brand standards.
• Manage budgets, supplies, and inventory to meet financial goals.
• Recruit, hire, and retain talent; create schedules based on business needs.
