Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a full-time optician to assist customers with frame selection and dispensing eyewear.

The role involves interpreting prescriptions, providing product information, and ensuring accurate pricing while maintaining social distancing and hygiene protocols. You will use the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs, interact with Lab and Optometrist for accuracy, and uphold HIPAA privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist each customer in frame and lens selection meeting social distance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols and hygiene practices.
• Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and other services.
• Inform customers with third-party insurance about benefits and any charges not covered.
• Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and provide lens recommendations.
• Analyze and interpret patients’ prescriptions and communicate with Lab and Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements and adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure accuracy of customer pricing for retail purchases.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices where applicable.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy requirements and participate in ongoing training.
