Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a full-time Optical Associate in New Hyde Park, NY to assist customers with frame and lens selection, dispense products, and communicate prescription details. The role requires state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing, strong customer service, and adherence to HIPAA policies.

The position offers competitive pay ranging from $27 to $40.50 per hour, with incentives and overtime opportunities. Training and on-site teamwork are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products and interpret prescriptions, and assist customers with frame and lens selections.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection and dispensing.
• Provide accurate information regarding frames, lens options, services, and insurance benefits.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lens solutions.
• Communicate with lab and optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Ensure accurate customer pricing and maintain a clean dispensing area.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and privacy policies.
• Support training for apprentices and stay compliant with state guidelines.
