Job summary

VisionWorks in Baldwin, NY is seeking an Optical Associate to assist customers with frame selection and dispensing prescriptions. You will interpret prescriptions, provide product information, and ensure accurate pricing and service delivery.

Responsibilities include assisting customers with Third Party insurance details, following SERVE sales processes, and maintaining a clean dispensing area while complying with HIPAA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, and the analysis/interpretation of prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection.
• Explain product information regarding frames, lens selections and services.
• Provide insurance information and discuss benefits/charges.
• Use SERVE sales process to assess needs and recommend lenses.
• Interpret prescriptions and coordinate with Lab and Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames/accessories with precise measurements.
• Maintain a clean dispensing area and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy requirements.
• Participate in training and maintain professional affiliations.
