Job summary

VisionWorks in Town of Webster, NY is seeking an Optical Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection based on prescriptions. You will interpret prescriptions, advise on frame and lens choices, and ensure accurate pricing while maintaining a clean dispensing area.

The role requires state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing, strong sales skills, and the ability to work with Lab and Optometrist teams to deliver quality eyewear and service.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products and services and interpret prescriptions.
• Experience dispensing frames and lenses and assisting with fittings.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection using the SERVE process.
• Provide information on frames, lens options, and services for insured patients.
• Utilize measurements to sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories per Eyewear Presentation.
• Communicate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Maintain dispensing area cleanliness and ensure correct pricing.
• Support Apprentice Opticians when applicable and comply with HIPAA.
