Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Millwright to repair, maintain, weld and adjust equipment in our Sault Ste. Marie mill. You will identify causes of equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to keep production moving.

The ideal candidate has a DEC or DEP in industrial mechanics or maintenance, at least two years of mill or sawmill experience, and is licensed, safety-oriented, and a team player ready to work in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma (DEC) in industrial mechanics or vocational diploma (DEP) in industrial maintenance (equivalent experience could also do the trick).
• Minimum of two years’ experience in industrial equipment maintenance (especially in the sawmill industry).
• Must be licensed (MUST BE LICENCED).

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment including conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic components, automated systems.
• Identify causes of machinery breakdowns or malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Install/adjust/optimize all equipment to maximize efficiency.
• Respond to emergencies when mechanical breakdowns affect operations.
• Operate machining tools to manufacture parts.
• Maintain an alert and attentive state.
• Heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling required.
