Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a licensed electrical journeyman to install, maintain, and test electrical systems on project sites in Colorado. You will read plans, adhere to codes, and collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality, safe workmanship.

This role requires strong problem-solving, teamwork, and the ability to perform physical tasks; on-site duties include wiring, testing, and preventive maintenance, with growth opportunities within a leading construction company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Trade/technical certification or diploma required.
• Apprentice aptitude test is required.
• Union-specific training and Mortenson training appreciated.
• Valid driver's license and ability to read plans.
• English language skills required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems and circuits with meters to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Install and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, and related equipment per codes.
• Study plans, drawings, specs, and work orders to determine requirements and sequence.
• Repair and maintain high voltage systems.
• Read prints and layout work; install new service.
• Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep supplies stocked; maintain a safe work environment.
