Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across our projects. You will assemble, test, and connect wiring, read plans, and ensure code compliance while supporting safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus two years of related experience and trades certification. You’ll work in a collaborative team environment, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience required.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma required.
• Apprentice aptitude test required.
• Union specific training expected.
• Mortenson project/Company training desired.
• Current driver's license required.
• Ability to read plans and interpret construction drawings.
• English speaking, with Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers and components.
• Test electrical systems with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Repair and maintain motors, transformers, and generators.
• Study plans and work orders to determine tasks and sequence.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Read prints and lay out new service installations.
• Maintain safe work environment and comply with codes.
