Job summary

Sam Leman Automotive Group is seeking an experienced License & Title Clerk to join our Bloomington accounting team. You will process vehicle titles, registrations, and related paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timely completion in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Responsibilities

Sam Leman Automotive Group is seeking an experienced License & Title Clerk to join our growing accounting team in Bloomington, IL!

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in automotive dealership title processing. If you have experience handling vehicle titles, registrations, and dealership paperwork and are looking for a stable, long-term career with opportunities for growth, we want to hear from you!

Previous automotive dealership titling experience is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vehicle titles, registrations, tax payments, and title assignments accurately and efficiently.

• Prepare and process paperwork for new and used vehicle sales, dealer trades, and out-of-state transactions.

• Ensure all title and registration documentation complies with state regulations and dealership requirements.

• Stock new and used vehicles into dealership inventory systems.

• Reconcile monthly statements, accounting entries, and related records.

• Research and resolve title discrepancies, missing documentation, and registration issues.

• Communicate with customers, financial institutions, and state agencies regarding title and registration matters.

• Maintain accurate, organized records and ensure timely processing of all paperwork.

• Cross-train and assist with additional accounting office responsibilities as needed.

• Support the Office Manager with special projects and general administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of automotive dealership license and title experience REQUIRED.

• Strong understanding of Illinois vehicle titling, registration procedures, and dealership documentation.

• Previous experience working in an automotive dealership accounting office.

• Experience with dealership systems such as CDK, CVR, ATC, and Dealertrack preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Experience with McDavid products and Illinois dealership compliance is a plus.
