Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate in the Nuclear Power Group to support license renewal and aging management initiatives across the U.S. nuclear fleet.

You will translate LR/SLR commitments into practical inspection plans, coordinate with field teams, and help maintain program basises and NRC submittals. The role emphasizes collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and structural SMEs, as well as experience in LR/SLR implementation, aging mechanisms, and regulatory guidance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years in design/analysis of nuclear, industrial, or DOE facilities.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing medium-to-large projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Mentoring staff engineers or similar roles.
  • Licensed Operator for a Utility.
  • Ability to deliver regulatory-grade technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC and configuration management in nuclear environments.
  • Experience with work management systems and field execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support LR/SLR implementation activities (PM basis, WO development, and AMP updates).
  • Roadmap inspections and aging management activities to NRC regulations and LR/SLR commitments.
  • Define and maintain sample populations and inspection scopes tied to LR/SLR commitments.
  • Coordinate with schedulers, planners, and field organizations to integrate aging needs into work sequences and outage plans.
  • Develop and maintain engineering program basis documentation and technical justifications.
  • Validate data, track engineering changes, and manage LR/SLR documentation and commitments.
  • Support NRC commitment tracking and prepare/ review inspection packages and closure documents.
  • Engage with clients, NRC, and SMEs to explain aging management strategies and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and structural SMEs to refine scopes and documentation expectations.
  • Stay current with LR/SLR regulations, guidance, and industry operating experience.
