Job summary

Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, IL is seeking a License Pending Registered Nurse to join our Ortho/Neuro/Medical team. Under the supervision of a licensed RN, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced setting, with emphasis on ortho/neuro diagnoses.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, NCLEX-RN completion, BLS certification, and a BSN within 3 years for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Must be a Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Official NCLEX-RN pass.
• BLS certification required.
• New Graduate RNs (starting 1/1/25 or later) must earn BSN within 3 years of start date.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered; monitor responses.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and document changes promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interprofessional team; participate in discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families with cultural and age considerations; provide post-discharge resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital standards.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment and participate in quality initiatives.
