Job summary

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a License Pending Registered Nurse to join the IMCU team in Kankakee, Illinois. This role supports ortho/neuro patients under licensed RN supervision, performing assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate will have BLS certification, nursing degree from an accredited program, and NCLEX-RN completion. BSN preferred; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Official written notification of NCLEX-RN exam completion/pass.
• BLS certification required.
• New Graduate RNs starting 1/1/25 must earn BSN within 3 years.
• License Pending RN eligibility aligned with Illinois Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor patient responses.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and document changes promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary team for discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families, considering culture and age-related needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring regulatory compliance.
