Job summary

Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, IL is seeking a License Pending Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Pediatric inpatient team. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care under supervision with emphasis on ortho and neuro diagnoses.

Required BLS, NCLEX-RN, and licensure path; new grads may need BSN within 3 years. You will work in a fast-paced setting delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and supporting discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and NCLEX-RN passing.
• BLS certification required; PALS within 1 year of hire.
• BSN within 3 years for new grads; ACLS preferred.
• Licensure aligned with Illinois Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop care plans with families.
• Administer medications, treatments and monitor responses.
• Monitor vitals and document changes promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and team; participate in discharge planning.
• Educate patients considering culture and age; provide post-discharge guidance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital standards.
• Support patient experience and teamwork; contribute to a positive environment.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure infection control practices.
