Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to support students, faculty, and staff with locating research materials, maintaining and cataloging resources, updating the library website, and assisting with orientations and LibGuides. The role offers 20-28 hours per week, with days and evenings as needed, at $18.00 per hour.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and at least two years in a computerized work environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists students, faculty, and staff with locating research materials.
• Maintain statistical records and create reports.
• Circulates and maintains library and audio-visual materials and equipment.
• Catalogues and processes materials.
• Maintain and update library resources as needed.
• Update and maintain Library website.
• Conducts library orientations, and instruction-in class and virtually.
• Creates course and subject LibGuides.
• Schedules, administers, score and/or send for processing, appropriate tests and assessments (VUE, NET, PSB, Compass, Special-Needs Assessments, etc.).
• Successfully pass vendor-specific proctoring tests.
• Proctor exams in the Testing Center as needed
• Interact with faculty for student tutoring referrals
• Follow all college policies and privacy policies related to duties.
• 20-28 hours a week. Position will work days and evenings as necessary.
