Job Summary
Part-time Student Library Assistant. Hours possible: up to 10 hours per week. Starting at $12/ hr.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in Purdue University undergraduate level at the Indianapolis location.
- Office/ public service experience is highly desirable.
- Participation in the College Work Study Program is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Book and Periodicals check-in, circulation duties (shelving, holds, checking in and out materials), inventory duties (scanning, shelf reading), mail delivery and moving equipment and supplies.
- Customer service duties at the library information desk (answering phones, providing guidance, directions and answering questions).
- Opening and closing of the library on evenings.
- Light cleaning and Special Projects.
Additional Expectations
- Must be willing to work evenings.
- Must be able to maintain schedules in a consistent manner.
- Must have the ability to work with faculty, staff and library patrons in a public service environment.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
Education
Typically requires a high school diploma/GED.
