Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a paraprofessional library assistant to provide research assistance, cataloging, and testing proctoring coverage. The role emphasizes independent judgment and strong technical skills, with a schedule of 20-28 hours weekly across day and evening shifts.

Responsibilities include helping students locate materials, maintaining records, and updating library resources and the website. Experience in a computerized environment is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists students, faculty, and staff with locating research materials.
• Maintain statistical records and create reports.
• Circulates and maintains library and audio-visual materials and equipment.
• Catalogues and processes materials.
• Maintain and update library resources as needed
• Update and maintain Library website
• Conducts library orientations, and instruction-in class and virtually.
• Creates course and subject LibGuides.
• Schedules, administers, score and/or send for processing, appropriate tests and assessments (VUE, NET, PSB, Compass, Special-Needs Assessments, etc.).
• Successfully pass vendor-specific proctoring tests.
• Proctor exams in the Testing Center as needed
• Interact with faculty for student tutoring referrals
• Follow all college policies and privacy policies related to duties.
• 20-28 hours a week. Position will work days and evenings as necessary.
