Job summary

Mid-Continent Public Library in Independence, MO, seeks a Customer Service Supervisor to lead frontline service on the service floor, coach staff, coordinate training, and respond to unexpected events in management's absence.

You will support branch operations, assist with reader services and transactions, arrange room reservations, and help with custodial duties as needed, while delivering friendly, solution-focused service to patrons.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years Customer Service experience required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers on the service floor and model excellent service.
• Provide on-the-job coaching to staff on service standards.
• Lead and coordinate training for staff and handle unexpected events in managements absence.
• Assist with branch operations including reader services, transactions, and technology assistance.
• Manage materials handling, deliveries, and basic custodial tasks as needed.
