Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Student Supervisor Specialist I for the McBay Science Library. The role handles desk duties, circulation, and resource sharing while supporting student workers and coordinating training and staffing.

Under supervision, you will manage patron inquiries, process materials, and ensure accurate records. Schedule typically Tuesday–Saturday; occasional adjustments during breaks or events may occur.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Supervisory or training experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Teams experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend to library patrons at the service desk by in person, phone, and email for circulation, reserves, and resource sharing.
• Process materials and maintain accurate patron records; add item records as needed.
• Assist in issuing borrowers' cards and placing/clearing holds; interpret library policies.
• Collaborate with Security at night and on weekends; may serve as lead in absence of supervisor.
• Coordinate and train student employees; participate in hiring and evaluation of staff.
