Job summary

University of Georgia in Athens seeks an Assistant Director of User Services to lead borrowing, delivery, course reserves, and accessibility initiatives across the Main and McBay libraries. The role reports to the Director of User Services and oversees staff at key locations, shaping service standards and user experience.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or a related terminal degree.
• At least 3 years of professional library experience.
• One or more years of experience supervising faculty or staff.
• Experience with course reserves and copyright guidance.
• Experience with accessibility practices in workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and implementing the work of the User Services Department.
• Lead the course reserve function and oversee copyright guidance.
• Directly supervise staff at branch locations (McBay, Music, CML) and ensure excellent customer service.
• Contribute to unit services, policies, and assessment across library divisions.
• Maintain and configure systems such as Alma as a backup and support staff training.
