St Louis Public Library’s Carpenter Library is hiring a full-time Information Specialist in St. Louis, MO. The role supports community access to resources, library cards, checkout services, and technology help, with duties extending to notary and passport services.

Qualifications

• At least six months of customer service-related experience, or an associate’s degree, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and use technology as the Library continues to evolve.
• The ability to speak publicly in order to execute unique and exciting events.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning library materials.
• Assist in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.
• Provide technology assistance to customers with Library equipment.
• Assist with daily housekeeping operations, projects, and opening and closing of the building.
• Provide passport and notary services to library customers.
• Assist with programming as needed.
