Naperville Public Library is seeking a Customer Services Assistant to help at the public desk, handling circulation, information requests, and basic tech support. The role emphasizes courteous service, accuracy, and collaboration with staff to resolve circulation issues across library services.

The position includes tasks such as issuing library cards, processing holds, curbside service, ILL handling, and assisting patrons with resources and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of customer service experience.
• Bilingual proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Upholds the highest standards of customer service with polite interactions.
• Issues library cards, processes materials, and routes items for circulation.
• Responds promptly to requests and routes complex issues to staff.
• Assists customers with use of library equipment, print resources, and online tools.
• Troubleshoots basic issues with self-check machines and phones.
• Maintains order and cleanliness in public areas and supports facilities when needed.
• Supports ILL processes and communicates with ILL patrons.
