Job summary

Manatee County Government is seeking a paraprofessional library worker for the Braden River Library in Bradenton, FL. The position involves moderate supervision, customer service at the desk, and assisting with programs and cataloging tasks.

The assignment is six months with maximum 27 hours per week and includes evening and weekend shifts. Prior library experience and some college coursework are preferred. Training is provided under librarian guidance.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
One year or more of customer service experience.
Some college coursework is preferred.
Prior library experience and shift lead/supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

Covers the public desk as assigned.
May lead or assist with public computer classes and equipment/material instruction.
May participate in acquisition and cataloging functions.
May arrange branch exhibits and displays and programming for all age groups.
May prepare statistical and other monthly and/or annual reports.
May perform interlibrary loan processing.
Performs other related duties as assigned, including participation in emergency or disaster response activities.
