Job summary

Mid-Continent Public Library in Excelsior Springs, MO is seeking a Full-Time Customer Service Supervisor to lead on‑the‑floor service, model exceptional interactions, and support branch management with daily operations, technology help, and reader services.

You will coach staff, assist with training, respond to unexpected events, coordinate room reservations, handle vendor contacts, and help maintain a clean, safe, customer‑friendly library for the community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service experience.
• Ability to coach staff and maintain service standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers on the service floor and model exceptional service.
• Coach staff on customer service standards and on technology, reader services, and accounts.
• Deliver materials to customers as needed.
• Open/close building and support facilities and security.
• Lead training and supervise operations in absence of management.
• Manage vendor and contractor communication.
• Assist with room reservations and events.
• Provide in-person and phone-based customer service.
• Work two weekends a month.
