Job summary

Mount Prospect Public Library is seeking a part-time janitor to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming library environment in Mount Prospect, IL.

This position averages 14 hours per week on a fixed two-week schedule, with hours pre-determined (no flexibility beyond the set schedule). The role reports to the Facilities & Security Manager and pays $17 per hour, with benefits including PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent work experience) required.
• Some previous commercial janitorial experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitation of floors, desks, and surfaces.
• Trash and recycling collection and removal.
• Assist with misc. duties such as furniture movement and setup.
• Activate security system as scheduled and maintain supply inventory.
