Mount Prospect Public Library is seeking a part-time janitor to help keep the library clean and welcoming. Under the supervision of the Facilities & Security Manager, you will perform light to medium cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and inviting space for patrons.

The position offers a fixed, early-morning schedule with limited hours each week, designed to support the library’s operations and community access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent work experience) required.
• Some previous commercial janitorial experience desirable.

SCHEDULE

Averages 14 hours per week and follows a repeating 2 week schedule. Since the hours below reflect the needs of the library, we are unable to offer flexibility outside of this specific schedule.

• Week1: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 5am to 9am & Sunday 7am to 11am
• Week2: Monday, Thursday, & Friday 5am to 9am

PURPOSE

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities & Security Manager, this position is responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep of the library building and property. Overall, this position requires the ability to perform light to medium work while maintaining the safety and appearance of the facilities.
