Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is hiring a Customer Services Specialist for the Shepard Branch. This part-time, non-exempt role supports patrons with library services, guides users to resources, and helps maintain a welcoming environment.

You will handle circulations tasks, assist with account information, answer basic questions, and participate in daily operations to ensure a positive customer experience across the branch.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology and office software.
• Reliable transportation to report to assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library materials, accounts, and directions.
• Greet customers, answer reference questions, and assist with library technology.
• Handle money, deposits, and reconcile cash drawers.
• Open/close procedures, and maintain location supplies and bulletin boards.
• Train customers on library technology and support volunteers.
• Perform clerical duties and gather statistics.
