Job summary

City of Janesville seeks a reliable Custodian for the library to keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. Under general direction of the Operations Manager, you will perform daily cleaning, setup for events, and routine maintenance.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of custodial experience, with availability Tuesday–Saturday and the ability to lift and move equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduation with a High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in custodial work is required.
• Access to personal or public transportation for job-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and vacuums library areas and restrooms.
• Sets up/tears down tables, chairs, and podiums for programs.
• Manages trash removal and recycling.
• Arms and disarms building security and fire protection systems.
• Maintains cleaning supplies inventory and reorders.
• Assists with moving and assembling shelving and furnishings.
• Follows safety regulations and reports hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
