Job summary

Greenville County Library System's Hughes Main Library seeks a Main Circulation Assistant to work 3 evenings during the week and every other weekend. The role supports customer service, circulation, and access to digital resources at Hughes Main Library, located in Greenville, SC.

The position is part-time (16–20 hours/week) with an evening/weekend schedule. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and experience in public-facing service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (GED).
• Experience working with the public in a customer service position.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with locating and using library materials.
• Provide general circulation services, including registering borrowers, updating records, placing holds, and checking out materials.
• Assist customers with the online catalog and the library website, including databases.
• Use the library system (ILS) to process discharges, holds, and in-transit items, and maintain item status.
• Perform inventory, shelving, and routine maintenance of materials and displays.
• Provide Readers’ Advisory and help customers access digital materials and eResources.
