Job summary

Library Systems & Services Llc in Temecula, CA is seeking a Library Associate 2 to provide friendly customer service at the circulation desk and assist patrons with locating materials.

In this entry level role, you will perform routine technical tasks, check books in/out, manage accounts, and support programs while adhering to library policies. The position requires a HS diploma, flexibility for evenings/weekends, and basic computer skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Two years library experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred.
• Ability to work a schedule that may include days, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and registers patrons, issues library cards, checks out materials and manages patron accounts.
• Assists patrons with locating materials or at the reference desk, using computers and describing procedures.
• Checks in and processes library materials as necessary.
• Accepts and processes fines, fees, or other payments.
• Provides information regarding programs, events, conference rooms, etc.
• Mails library materials for homebound programs and shelves materials.
• Addresses patron conduct or safety issues to management.
• Follows all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
