Job summary

The Toledo Lucas County Public Library is seeking a Customer Service Clerk I/II to join the Circulation Services team. This position involves handling loan materials, registrations, and customer queries with a focus on friendly, helpful service across multiple shifts.

Openings total 10, with a Limited Part-Time schedule (minimum 15 hours per week). Candidates should have a HS diploma, cash handling experience, and typing speed of 35 wpm; passport certification within 12 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Passport certification within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of one year direct customer service experience.
• Minimum of one year handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Typing speed of 35 wpm.
• Valid driver’s license; insured per state requirements.
• Prefer experience with Microsoft Office Suite and mobile devices.
• Must meet library insurance carrier eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Charge and discharge loan materials and process fines.
• Register new borrowers and manage reservations.
• Provide friendly customer service and communicate library programs.
• Answer calls and route to supervisor or librarians.
• Assist patrons with circulation problems.
• Maintain knowledge of library policies and participate in trainings.
• May rotate to other library facilities.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion in daily work.
