Job summary

Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Zionsville, IN, seeks a Bookkeeper to manage accounting entries, payroll, cash receipts, and reports for SBOA and DLGF. This role supports the Finance Manager and maintains ledgers and financial records for the library.

You will work in the Zionsville branch, handle journal entries, vendor payments, payroll, gift funds, and monthly statements, collaborating with operations staff and the Director.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 3 years minimum of relevant professional experience in finance.
• Proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and benefits; inputs journal entries for payroll, payroll taxes, and accounts payable.
• Assist Finance Manager with ledgers and government financial reports (SBOA/DLGF).
• Prepare monthly reports and financial statements; coordinate budgets and board materials.
• Reconcile cash, credit card activity, and gifts/donations; manage deposits and banking.
• Update accounting spreadsheets and prepare outputs for governance meetings.
