Job summary

Pima County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic Library Associate for the W. Anne Gibson Esmond Station Library. The role requires report-to and travel between library locations during the day. You'll support programs, outreach, and customer service across diverse communities.

Essential duties include coordinating services, supervising volunteers, and managing inventories while maintaining records and preparing reports. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with relevant library experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years of customer service experience.
• Experience or education substitution allowed as described by the department head.
• One year with Pima County in a Library Technical Assistant or closely related position.
• Documentation of education and work experience in the application, not just a resume.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates branch compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Prepares and presents educational programs and outreach services aligned with department directions.
• Coordinates and participates in internal and external services like payroll, IT, scheduling, and outreach.
• Supervises, schedules, and trains volunteers and acts as supervisor in absence of senior staff.
• Uses conflict management skills to de-escalate issues and completes required documentation.
• Provides customer service to diverse patrons, including non-English speakers.
• Assists staff with collection maintenance, material selection, and bibliographic research.
