Job summary

Pima County Public Library is hiring a Librarian I to join the teen services team at the W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library.

The role focuses on developing engaging teen programs, collaborating with staff and partners, and building relationships with youth and families to expand library services. The librarian will report to the library supervisor, travel between locations as needed, and contribute to public service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Library Science, Liberal Arts, Social Science, Information Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; three years of library, customer service, education or related experience.
• Master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred and encouraged for community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned service area within the library, developing and coordinating services for youth or adults and all public members.
• Serves as supervisor in charge of the library as assigned; trains, schedules, and evaluates staff.
• Assists the public by locating library resources and helping with catalogs, technology, and equipment; supports early literacy and digital literacy programs.
• Develops, facilitates, and/or presents educational programs and services for teens and families, including outreach and virtual activities.
