City of Irvine is seeking Part-time Library Assistant I to support Irvine's new public library system. The role provides paraprofessional and technical library assistance to the public under direct or general supervision. This position requires evening and weekend shifts.

You will help customers with services and technology, assist with collection maintenance, and support library programming while interpreting policies for diverse patrons. Commitment to service and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• College coursework in library services with four years of related experience.
• Valid California driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within three months.

Responsibilities

• Assist library customers in using services and technology and provide basic information and research help.
• Assist with collection maintenance as directed.
• Assist with implementing general library programming and other activities.
• Interpret and apply library policies for customers.
• Participate in community and outreach events as directed.
