Job summary

The City of Irvine is seeking Part-time Library Assistant I for its new public library system. The role includes evening and weekend shifts and focuses on helping patrons access services, technology, and resources while providing courteous customer service.

You will perform paraprofessional library duties, assist with programming, and support policy implementation under supervision. A background in library services and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Four years of increasing responsible experience in advanced clerical, technical, or paraprofessional library services.
• Valid California driver's license or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certification within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist library customers in using library services and technology.
• Provide basic information and research assistance to the public.
• Assist with collection maintenance as directed.
• Help implement general library programming and related activities.
