Job summary

Yale University in New Haven seeks an Access and Public Services professional to provide frontline service desk support, assist patrons, and coordinate access to library resources across Marx Library and other sites as needed.

The role emphasizes user-centered service, collaboration with librarians, and supervision of student staff, with a Sunday–Thursday shift from 1:30pm to 10:00pm to cover peak usage periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates course reserves services and communicates with faculty.
• Supports resource sharing, scan and deliver services, retrieval requests, and related access workflows.
• Manages collection access activities including serials, acquisitions, and bibliographic workflows.
• Provides support for special collections and archival activities.
• Maintains library privileges and patron access records.
• Supports daily library operations including opening/closing procedures and safety reporting.
• Participates in training, workflow development, and cross-unit projects.
