Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative-Liability in Stevens Point, WI to investigate and resolve claims with accuracy and efficiency while independently managing caseloads and negotiating settlements. You will verify coverage, evaluate liability and bodily injury, set reserves, and ensure timely payments within guidelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least 1 year in the field, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
• Prior attorney rep experience highly preferred.
• Ability to review and analyze detailed documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical bills and records.
• Ability to make appropriate claim decisions, prioritize, and manage workload; time limit demands.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated fundamental negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify coverage by thoroughly reviewing policies and interpreting terms.
• Evaluate liability by statements, reports and evidence; negotiate or deny liability accordingly.
• Evaluate physical damage and bodily injury claims using estimates, photos, medical reports and bills.
• Set claim reserves timely based on liability; negotiate settlements within guidelines.
• Document all decisions, communications and activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide empathetic service; explain the claims process and decisions clearly.
