Job description

We are partnering with a growing managed IT services organization seeking experienced Level II Engineers with strong background in systems and networking to join its technical team.

Depending on background and interests, engineers may focus on either Client Support or Project Delivery/Implementation.

Both opportunities are well suited for hands‑on IT professionals with strong Microsoft

infrastructure, systems, networking, and customer‑facing skills who enjoy working across diverse client environments.

Core Technical Environment

Candidates should bring experience across several of the following areas:

  • Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Networking, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS/DHCP and TCP/IP
  • Server and infrastructure migrations
  • Cloud and hybrid environments
  • IT security and endpoint technologies
  • Technical documentation
  • MSP or multi-client environments

Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and customer service skills are important for both positions.

The Support Engineer provides advanced technical support across multiple client environments and serves as an escalation point for more complex infrastructure, systems, networking, and Microsoft‑related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level II infrastructure and end‑user issues.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
  • Diagnose network, firewall, VPN, connectivity and related infrastructure issues.
  • Support virtualized and cloud environments.
  • Handle escalated technical issues requiring deeper investigation.
  • Work directly with clients to diagnose problems and communicate solutions.
  • Document troubleshooting, configurations and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and escalated highly complex issues when necessary.

Travel: This position does not require the travel associated with the Delivery role.

The Project Delivery Engineer focuses primarily on implementing technology projects rather than ongoing support. This individual takes ownership of technical deployments and works directly with clients throughout the implementation process.

Responsibilities
  • Implement mid‑size to complex client infrastructure projects.
  • Lead server migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Perform Microsoft 365 and email migrations.
  • Deploy and configure firewalls, switches and network infrastructure.
  • Implement Windows Server, Azure and VMware solutions.
  • Execute project scopes and technical runbooks with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in solution design and validate technical requirements.
  • Communicate directly with clients throughout project implementations.
  • Complete post‑implementation testing, documentation and handoff to support teams.
  • Assist with mentoring junior engineers.

Travel: The Project Delivery position requires the ability to travel up to approximately 30% nationwide for onsite client implementations.

Qualifications
  • Approximately 4+ years of hands‑on IT infrastructure, systems, networking or technical support experience.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting or implementing firewalls and network switches.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues and manage priorities.
  • Strong client communication and customer service skills.
  • MSP experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with RMM, PSA and documentation platforms is a plus.
  • Microsoft, Azure, VMware, AWS or CompTIA certifications are beneficial but not required.
Which Track Is Right for You?

Support may be the better fit if you enjoy: troubleshooting, solving a variety of technical problems, working across multiple client environments and becoming an escalation resource for complex issues.

Project Delivery may be the better fit if you enjoy: migrations, deployments, infrastructure upgrades, project ownership and seeing technical implementations through from planning to completion — and are comfortable traveling up to 30% to client locations.

Both paths offer the opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies and client environments while continuing to build deeper systems, cloud and networking expertise
