Job summary

Franklin Fitch is seeking a Level 3 Systems Engineer to act as a senior escalation resource within its technical team. You will resolve complex infrastructure, cloud, and networking issues across diverse client environments, delivering secure, stable, and high-performing IT systems.

This role is hands-on, with ownership from issue to resolution, collaboration with Service Desk, Projects, and Engineering, and a focus on automation and documented processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an MSP or IT services environment.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Knowledge of virtualization: VMware and Hyper-V.
• Networking knowledge including firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing, and wireless.

Responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for complex infrastructure, systems, and networking issues.
• Troubleshoot and support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
• Support identity, access management, file services, and collaboration platforms.
• Troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing, wireless networks, and connectivity issues.
• Administer virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Use PowerShell and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with support, engineering, and project teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements.
• Deliver high standards of technical support and customer service.

A growing managed services provider is seeking a Level 3 Systems Engineer to join its technical team and serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, and networking issues.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MSP professional who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, working across diverse client environments, and playing a key role in maintaining secure, stable, and high-performing IT systems.

The Opportunity

You’ll work as a senior technical resource, partnering with Service Desk, Projects, and Engineering teams to resolve advanced issues while helping drive service improvements across multiple client environments.

This role is highly hands-on and would suit someone who enjoys troubleshooting, infrastructure administration, automation, and client interaction. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of issues through to resolution while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure, systems, and networking issues
• Troubleshoot and support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience within an MSP or IT services environment
• Strong expertise with Microsoft technologies including:
• Windows Server
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory
• DNS and Group Policy
• Strong networking knowledge covering firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing, and wireless technologies
• Experience supporting virtualized environments, including VMware and Hyper-V
• Experience working with RMM and PSA platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Experience contributing to process improvement and standardization initiatives
• Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or networking certifications
