Job summary

The Hashemi Law Firm in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a hands-on paralegal to support our California Lemon Law and Civil Litigation practice. You will own case development, discovery, client communication, and trial preparation while collaborating in a small, supportive team.

The ideal candidate has significant California civil litigation experience, is adept at managing discovery, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with clients and experts. Prior Lemon Law exposure is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on California civil litigation experience with the ability to independently manage litigation support functions.
• Prior California Lemon Law experience is strongly preferred.
• Litigation experience, including law and motion practice.
• Experience independently handling discovery and utilizing subpoenas.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage lemon law cases from intake and evaluation through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and oversee practical execution of cases.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Independently propound and respond to written discovery.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including subpoenas, records collection, meet-and-confer efforts, and discovery motions.
• Conduct legal research and law and motion practice.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Assist with depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
