Job summary

The House of Representatives in Oklahoma City seeks a Reading Clerk/Subject Index Clerk to support daily sessions by reading bills, amendments, and letters, managing roll calls, and maintaining the subject index.

Salary is $70,000 per year; full-time schedule with potential overtime during the legislative session.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of legislative experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong reading and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Read bills, amendments, citations, resolutions, and conduct roll call during daily sessions; operate chamber software; track amendments; update the subject index; assist in the final journal; prepare and disseminate citations.
• Assist the Chief Clerk with special projects and related duties as assigned.
