Job summary

Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) in Maryland is seeking a dedicated professional to support the Office of Government and Legislative Affairs (OGLA). The role handles legislative development matters, coordination with the Governor's Office for regulations, and management of constituent casework and hearings.

The position involves scheduling with the Secretary's office, maintaining bill trackers, and coordinating testimony submissions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of administrative staff or professional work experience required.
• Substitution allowed: 30 college credits per year of required experience.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience may substitute for required experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Legislative Activities: track regulations, update the OGLA Director, and submit draft regulations for Governor review.
• Manage OGLA constituent casework and deadlines; coordinate responses and monitor deadlines.
• Schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders; coordinate scheduling with the Secretary's office.
• Legislative reports: manage mandated reports, deadlines, reminders, and submissions; liaise with DLS Librarian and DPSCS units.
• OGLA Annapolis Office: manage office supplies and equipment; support staff and interns.
• Portfolio Management: liaison between OGLA and PCTC; manage MCCS legislative portfolio during sessions.
• Serve as liaison between OGLA and MCCS and manage MCCS portfolio during interim and session.
