Job description

Schwartz, Page & Harding, L.L.P. is a law firm that specializes in the creation and administration of various municipal utility districts and special purpose districts. They serve as general and bond counsel for districts such as water control and improvement districts, levee improvement districts, and municipal management districts.

Please note: This is not a litigation practice. The firm’s work is focused on public finance, district governance, infrastructure development, and regulatory compliance—not courtroom representation.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position. The Legal Secretary position works with a minimum of three (3) Paralegals and will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to, the preparation, editing and filing of various legal documents; scheduling and maintaining reservations for board meetings; communicating with all necessary parties for efficient handling of the desk; and handling of various other administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Review and revise minutes and agendas for monthly Board of Director meetings and prepare for posting to appropriate counties and district websites.
  • Review of construction contracts and monitor status of completion.
  • Maintain professional communications internally and externally.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with revision of legal documents.
  • Assist with ensuring client deadlines are met.
  • Recordation of legal documents via Simplifile.
  • Distribute recorded legal documents to designated recipients.
  • Assist in overflow as needed.
