Qualifications

  • Experience with client files, court filings, and document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, travel, meetings, and expenses.

  • Prepare presentations and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Open and maintain client files and onboarding documents; assist with filings.

This role combines executive support, legal administration, and practice management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a proactive, highly organized professional who enjoys solving problems, managing priorities, improving processes, and serving as a valued member of the team.This position offers significant variety and responsibility, including supporting legal matters, client communications, business development efforts, presentations, speaking engagements, and daily practice operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional client service.Essential DutiesPractice Management & Executive SupportManage attorney calendars, deadlines, travel, meetings, and expenses.Coordinate workloads, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up.Maintain tracking systems, reports, and project lists.Prepare presentations and support process improvement initiatives.Legal SupportOpen and maintain client files and onboarding documents.Draft, proofread, format, and manage legal correspondence and documents.Coordinate document management and assist with court filings.Support litigation and transactional matters through organization and deadline management.Participate in client meetings and track follow-up items.Projects & Team CollaborationContribute to business development, special projects, and operational improvements.Collaborate with attorneys and staff to enhance efficiency and organization.Take ownership of projects from inception through completion.Recommend and implement improvements to workflow, communication, and practice management.QualificationsRequired3+ years of legal assistant, litigation assistant, executive assistant, or comparable professional experienceStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent attention to detail and follow-throughOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related technologiesExperience using NetDocuments or other document management systemsExperience with federal and state court filingsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently while exercising sound judgment and professionalismAbility to adapt quickly as priorities changePreferredLitigation experience within a law firm environmentExperience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneouslyExperience coordinating projects, tracking deadlines, or supporting practice management initiativesFamiliarity with, or strong interest in, emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools and legal technology platformsFirm BenefitsThe Firm offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical/HSA, dental, vision, life, disability, family care leave, 401k/profit sharing retirement package and pet insurance.Firm CultureThe Firm was recognized as an unparalleled leader in client service in the BTI Client Service A-Team 2026: Survey of Law Firm Client Service Performance, named as an Indy Star Top Workplaces for 12 consecutive years, and listed in the 2026 Best Lawyers publication as Best Law Firm of the year in the United States.Please send resumes to HR@scopelitis.com.
